White Wines $10.00-$20.00

Mandolina Pinot Grigio 2005, California

MSRP $14.00

mandolina image

This is a nice Pinot Gris that smells of granny smith apples and has a tangy tartness that quickly turns mouthwatering sweet.

Value: At $14 a bottle this wine is ok. We found it at Trader Joes for $7.99 a bottle and at that price it is a steal.

Dr. Prum Reisling 2004, Germany

MSRP $16.00

The bouquet of this wine is quite aromatic with tart apple, sun dried apricots and honey with a slight hint of mint. This Riesling has a delicate mouth feel and tastes of green apples that are tart but it is balanced by it acidity. Honeydew melon is also present.

Value: A solid wine period. $16 is a fair price for this well balanced crisp wine.

Kunde Chardonnay 2005 Sonoma, California

MSRP $15.00

Kunde Label

This is a very well structured Chardonnay that has a toasty and oaky character that is not over done. These characteristics are offset by nice tropical and citrus flavors such as mango and grapefruit. The well balanced acidity make this a natural match with many foods.

Value: This is a great value that would easily stand it's own if blind tasted with other California Chardonnays that are twice its price. This could easily be your go to chard.

Peju(Carnival) French Colombard 2005, Napa Valley, California

MSRP $16.00

Carnival Label

This wine smells like a fruit basket in a field of wild flowers. It has a lush mouth feel that has notes of mandarin orange and honeydew melon. This is a great wine to have with rich and spicy ethnic foods.

Value: This is a fun white wine that is well worth the $16 price tag.
