This is a nice inky Shiraz that has cocoa and oak on the nose. There is a strong backbone of tannins, oak, raspberry and black licorice.

Value: This wine is easily worth $20. At ten bucks this is a steal. If you enjoy full bodied Syrah this is a nice one at a great price.

Clos DuBois Cabernet Sauvignon 2003, California

This is an easy drinking wine that has a floral nose with hints of violet, rose and cherry. It has a moderate mouth feel exhibiting mild oak, cocoa and coffee flavors.

Value: At $10 a bottle this is a moderate value. The 03 Clos DuBois Cab is akin to a good car without all the options. Very drinkable but nothing that stands out with this one.

E Guigal Cotes du Rhone 2003, France

The E Guigal Cotes du Rhone is an opulent ruby red wine that has a forest like earthy nose. It has nice acidic properties and a terrior driven mineral characteristic. Note cranberry and asparagus flavors with moderately tart tannins.

Value: This is a very nice wine with layers of subdued complexity. Pay attention to this one or you will miss all that it has to offer. At only $10 this is a steal, buy it early and often.
